Ask about a trek

The form on this page is the way to reach us. Tell us the trek, the dates and who is walking; we reply by email to the address you give, with a plan and one price for the trip.

Use the form

We handle all enquiries through the form at the bottom of this page, and on every trek page. It asks for five things up front: which trek, your name, your email, when you plan to travel and how many are walking. The rest is optional but helpful, and opens if you click for more fields.

We reply by email to the address you give. Check that it is spelled correctly, and look in your spam folder if you have not heard back, because a first reply from an unknown address sometimes lands there.

If you are not sure which trek to choose, say so and describe what you want from the trip. We would rather recommend the gentler route than have you struggle on the harder one.

What happens next

  1. We read your message and check the season for your dates on the route you picked.
  2. We reply by email with a day plan and one price for the trip, listing what it includes and excludes.
  3. If it fits, you confirm and pay the deposit using the methods set out on the quotation.
  4. We ask for passport details, which Vietnamese homestays and border-area permits require.
  5. Before departure you receive the final plan: meeting time and place, the guides' names, and the kit list.

The full booking steps, including the paperwork lead times, are on how to book. Payment methods and booking terms are written on each quotation.

If you are already travelling

You can write from the road: from Hanoi before heading north, from Luang Prabang before taking the train to Luang Namtha, from Phnom Penh before the drive east. Say where you are and where you will be on which dates, and we plan the start around it.

Short notice is possible for Sa Pa and Pu Luong outside the busiest weeks. Hoang Su Phi needs about a week for border-area paperwork, so tell us early if that is the route you want. For Nam Ha and Mondulkiri, the limit is usually the availability of local guides and the camp.

What we do with your details

We use what you send in the form to answer your enquiry and, if you book, to arrange the trek. Passport details are passed only to the homestays and authorities that are required to register you. The privacy policy lists exactly which fields the form collects and how long we keep them.

Before you write

Many questions are already answered on the site. The route table compares every route by distance and climb; the trekking seasons page covers each month; the packing list covers shoes and kit; and the FAQ page gathers the questions from every page in one place.

Be careful with payment requests

We send payment links and bank details only in a reply to your own enquiry, and the quotation explains how to check them. If you receive a payment request that does not follow those steps, do not pay it; reply to our email thread and ask.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

Can we phone you?

We handle enquiries through the form and reply by email, so the plan and price are in writing. If you prefer a call, add your number and tick the call option in the form.

How much detail should we include?

Dates, party size and the trek are enough to start. Fitness, age of any teenagers and any knee or diet issues help us get the plan right first time.

We have not had a reply. What now?

Check your spam folder first. If nothing is there, send the form again and check the email address carefully.

Dates, party size and the places you care about are enough to start. You get a draft route and an indicative price, not a brochure.
